Om Revolving Restaurant
This one we had to try simply because it revolves and that's something of a novelty. There you sit on the 14th floor of a building and watch the city pass by slowly. (It takes about an hour to complete an entire revolution.) The food is pretty standard and only vegetarian is served.
We had the Kaju Masala simply because it seemed a little daring to try and use cashew nuts as a vegetable. Pretty good too but because a vibrant red masala can squish everything except the most determinedly flavourful veggie, there wasn't much taste of cashew left. But then cashew nuts like mushrooms need careful handling. Too much spice and you knock the subtle flavour out of the window.
The daal with which we had our baafla batti was good: rich and plentiful. So was the Jeera Aloo and the delightful churma with which we rounded off the meal.
You can also do a thali with a Rajasthani feel to it. While shutterbugs might want to eat there during the day, the non-camera-equipped diner might like to try it during the night when the lights are out and the city glitters against the backdrop of the hills. Lunch stops around 3:30 pm and dinner at 11:30 pm.
